The Connection
Jun 21, 2025
I was searching for that thing. I had done it most of my life. I had a medical issue that no one could help me with, and I was looking for someone to make it all better. It turned out that that someone was me. And it's taken me much of my life to find it. I knew there had to be a way and I found it. Now I’m doing everything I can to share what I’ve learned because it really works. We’re the ones we’ve been searching for. It's just that no one showed us how to make the connections. I truly believe it's something we should all be taught as children because it's easier than most people make it.
Our culture, with its many advances and technology, has caused great disconnection - from nature, from each other, and worst of all, from ourselves. “Civilized” society has enabled us to reach new heights in science, technology, and social networking. It has created a virtual reality and has defined for us how to be successful, productive, and to do what is expected of us. Artificial Intelligence is becoming so prevalent and powerful that we humans feel threatened. However successful we may be as the highest members on the food chain and the “most evolved” living creatures on earth, humans are suffering. Humans in today’s world are sick, stressed, depressed, and lost. Our intense focus on science, technology, and social media have increasingly separated us from what humans are designed to do when our nervous systems are allowed to function optimally. We have lost our connection to ourselves, to our bodies, and to our spirits.
Instead of feeling that AI, the media, and politics are taking over the world, what if we could make the most of the great advances in human civilization by empowering ourselves to reawaken the core of our human capacity to make sure we’re all going where we want to go? What if we can rediscover our humanness, our goodness, what our ancestors instinctively knew about wholeness, self-connection, and oneness with nature? In our search, many are at risk of quick fix methods whose limited perspective compartmentalizes us, rather than helping us to know the wholeness and interconnectedness of our being, and the power to know who we are and what we want.
Connection is a simple way to help us unlock our body’s “True Intelligence.” In a world that rewards us for living in our heads, reconnection with the vital, and often forgotten, parts of ourselves that hold our ancient wisdom can lead us to rediscover profound insights and a deeper sense of fulfillment. We are at a pivotal moment in human history: we face exceptional challenges that are solely a result of disconnection - deteriorating mental and physical health, self-destructive thoughts, hate, and violence. These things happen when we can’t feel who we are on the inside, control how we feel, or only look externally for our identity and validation. When we disconnect from ourselves, and the wise consciousness within us, we cannot fully connect with others, our health, or nature. Dis-ease happens with disconnection - and when it happens in mass, there is far-reaching suffering.
The cure is in the connection, in recognizing and relating to the wholeness of our mind, body, and spirit. I’m not talking about esoteric woo-woo, religion, a theoretical concept, an escape from reality, or suggesting we set aside a bunch of time for “self care”. Real self care is about connection in the moment. It's a tangible, felt, experience that is inherent in all of us as human beings. My personal journey and the success stories of my patients and course participants had unknowingly created a scaffold of real self-care. As I applied what I had learned, the “inner” work and medical study that I had done for over 25 years helped my patients too, and more profoundly than I expected. Because of my patient’s various problems, I saw even more ways this approach could be applied and how my own healing journey had given me the simple but profound healing tools to help people with problems that no one else could solve or who had done a ton of work and it still wasn't getting them where they wanted. My patients and course participants who do the practice of making the simple connections, repeatedly confirm the profound healing power of the interconnectedness wired into us all as humans.
A lot of people talk about the importance of the mind-body connection and self-empowerment. And there are things like yoga, breathwork, and all kinds of techniques that can help here or there. And there is a lot of talk about our inner parts and the various parts of our nervous system. But what really works and when the real magic happens is when we put real connection into practice into our daily life in bits and pieces every day. Setting aside time for self-care is good, but real self-care happens when we’re present and connected in our daily lives. What I’m talking about is a science-based, accessible, feeling-oriented, and whole-person approach that when applied in real time, truly empowers us to our full potential - no ashram or guru necessary.
Our mind-body connection is a counterbalance to the many external forces challenging us today. It's simple. It’s real. It's within us. It's the simple yet profound interconnectedness built into our human design. Using our body the way it was designed to be used makes all the work you’ve done really work and it's what really works for anyone who wants it.
The mind-body connection isn’t a new concept. Humans in ancient and native cultures were (and many still are) connected to their bodies, to their intuition, to nature, and to spirit. They lived in harmony with nature and knew how to sense and trust the instincts that they were inherently endowed with. They were able to be still and present, without the need to scroll on their phone or look or act a certain way to be ok. Their senses and perceptions were developed and intact, whereas humans today have learned to depend on devices for information and social connection. I’m not saying we should get rid of the tech, just make sure we don’t lose our own power in the process. We can become empowered and bring it with us into the future.
True transformation happens when we put theoretical knowledge into practice. Through awareness within our own human body, we can support and rewire our own nervous system to work the way it was designed to, in a calm, balanced, and optimized state. The simple connections we can make are an opportunity for a real connection to ourselves and it’s something that we can feel and do to feel good everyday. It's a kind of conscious awareness that empowers us to help ourselves when we need it. With a bit of practice, we build new habits that blend knowledge and experience until they become our new normal and healthy way of life - the way ancient civilizations and indigenous people have done for millenia. There is profound empowerment possible through recognizing and relating to our perfect human design and fostering a real connection to the health and wisdom within us.
Our whole person connection re-ignites vital, ancient parts of us, illuminating what it means to live as healthy, fulfilled human beings in today’s world. Making these connections guides us toward a healthy kind of self-centeredness and opens a new world of perception and grace that can show us the way to be strong, compassionate, and impactful human beings. By tapping into all that is available within, we can transcend old habits and patterns and unlock unlimited potential for growth, peace, health, and freedom. It can help anyone grappling with feelings of confusion or feeling adrift in life, those battling uncontrolled stress and anxiety, and spiritual seekers of all kinds.
Many of us already know that everything is connected but we’re often so busy in our heads that our nervous system becomes disjointed and can keep things from working optimally. What is missing in our world on so many levels is a simple way to have a consistent and real mind-body connection. We have a body to live in and when we live in it fully, we become empowered to control how we feel, know who we are, and do what we truly want to do. And it continues to blow my mind every day in my work with patients and course participants, how much this fundamental disconnection is largely responsible for our struggles with pain, stress, depression, disease, lack of relationship to oneself, and lack of purpose in life, and how powerfully transformative making the connections can be.
The connection is that the same simple method of shifting our awareness and “dropping in” connects us to a calm nervous system, a better sense of self, better health, easier decision making, our own relationship to spirit, trauma healing, less vulnerability to outside stressors, our gut feelings, and the interconnectedness of the natural world. It may seem too good to be true but it isn’t some imaginary metaphysical fairytale. When I realized how interwoven it all is, and how simple it can be for anyone to relate to their own healthy connections, to remember, access and be empowered by what’s already within us, I just wanted to get it to more and more people. This stuff is the real deal and I see amazing things happen every day in those who are doing the simple practice of making their own mind-body connections.
It’s so much easier than you might think and, in these times, it’s more important than ever. Your own mind-body connection is your pathway to true integration, self-care, and self knowing. As we connect, we remember who we are as human beings, we become empowered to fully realize what each of us has the capacity to do, and live the lives and create the world that we truly want.
